Most Awaited Moments

That very first moment, when you got the most awaited books of your favorites, on your own hands. I had that moment as the day I sketched them. Steve and Randy. Now I'm owning them. Whom you can call most inspirational techy heroes in real world. May be they are not, but once you listen to their speeches you'll found out.

From a Tree

Cranes

The Wind

Every Song has a big back story

I heard this song for the first time in a program called "Ra Irapaana" on Derana FM. A program that take your soul to the deep deep sea of a song in any language. The narrator Bandula Nanayakkarawasam is doing a tremendous work of attracting people like us back to the radio . So this song was there on its first episode and make me this habit of downloading all the episodes online at http://fmderana.lk/re_irapana.

Tears in Heaven

A song sung by Eric Clapton for his 4 year old son who fell from the window of a 53rd floor of an apartment building. It's not the song which make it perfect, but how emotionally he express his grievance through this song.  He calls for his son who is in heaven, to tell him, that he will be there one day to hold his little hand and walk beside him, but asking, would he be remember him as his beloved father as he did same as before, on that day. As I don't have the words to describe the deep sensitivity behind this song, listen how "Ra Irapaana" narrate the big back story behind the tears in heaven. Every song has a big back story which make them most amazing.

PS : 1st and 2nd episodes are not there at above site, but you can find it on the YouTube channel of Derana FM.

Would you know my name
If I saw you in heaven?
Would it be the same
If I saw you in heaven?

I must be strong
And carry on,
'Cause I know I don't belong
Here in heaven.

Would you hold my hand
If I saw you in heaven?
Would you help me stand
If I saw you in heaven?

I'll find my way
Through night and day,
'Cause I know I just can't stay
Here in heaven.

Time can bring you down,
Time can bend your knees.
Time can break your heart,
Have you begging please, begging please.

Beyond the door,
There's peace I'm sure,
And I know there'll be no more
Tears in heaven.

Would you know my name
If I saw you in heaven?
Would it be the same
If I saw you in heaven?

I must be strong And carry on, 'Cause I know... I don't belong ...Here in heaven.

Peruvian Style

Accidentally heard this song, a song of 70s, named El Cóndor Pasa. But for the amazement it doesn't had any word in that kind of a language but with pure English words. So the difference was music. A music where it doesn't goes with any westernize instrument, but touches you at the very first moment.

So hear goes the song. If you go to the melody, you will see, it's different.

There are several versions for English, but mainly I prefer Simon & Garfunkel, because they were the pioneers in transforming and make it popular in worldwide, make us feel this different rhythm. Anyway Andy Williams one is also OK to listen.

Yah, truly the lyrics give you another sensation.

I'd rather be a sparrow than a snail
Yes, I would
If I could,
I surely would

I'd rather be a hammer than a nail
Yes, I would
If I only could,
I surely would

Away, I'd rather sail away
Like a swan
That's here and gone

A man, Gets tied up to the branch
It gives the world
It's saddest sound
It's saddest sound

I'd rather be a forest than a street
Yes, I would
If I could,
I surely would

I'd rather feel the earth beneath my feet
Yes, I would
If I only could,
I surely would...

As it was a spectacular melody, really was very curious to get deep into the history of it. Why it has such a crazy name???

So there comes the answer from the Wiki. The name means Flight of the Condor. A Peruvian piece of music. That's why it makes you feel the wind of plain fields.

Come with me to feel the breeze of Peruvian lands.

Despicable Me means.......

Is this Steve and Bill?? or just Gru and Vector

mmmm.... According to their personal traits, there is some similarity if you go deep down. And the public perception between those two. Specifically on Gru. Who's agree ??? A brutal, arrogant image turned gradually into a matured well being.

In-front of the "Bo" Tree there was a something like this. I'm sure it's not a information from Archaeological department. But anyone who did it, we respect you. This effort is truly appreciated.

English Translation of the above

This is a nascent of the Bodhi tree in Bodh Gaya, India which was planted by the “Bo Appu Muththa” (A matured adult of the village) on the grave of the prince Sri Vardhana Rajadaru Bandara born inherited to the Sinhalese throne, who was leaded the last troop of 200 Sinhala soldiers to battled with the army of Portuguese Captain Constantine de Saa in 1623. This was situated near to the “Agasthi” pond, which was in the fort wall road of south gate, down to “Suurya Natha” fane, Dhumbutta.

Preparation for masters.

If you are a person who doesn't have any idea or unable to get any idea about being preparing for your masters, here are some tips for you people, as far as the understanding. So this is for Postgraduate  Computer Science in Sri Lanka.

First thing about preparation is to face the selection test for masters. So getting touch with your IQ and update your technical knowledge is the priority. You may be wayback from your bachelor days. So freshen up what you did there. Go back to your memory line.

Hmmm... About IQ...
First thing to do is to get in touch with solving  mathematicle questions. Specialy in probability. Usual color question and many more things that you learned for the maths subject. Then the rotating shapes, geometrical items and pattern questions which will measure your spacial intelligence. And also mathematical sequences, both with numbers and alphabet. Filling gaps, lots, sqares, triangles or circles by identifying the relationship between numbers. All you have to do is practice yourself and get used into it by trying out all these problems. You can find quite a lot in the internet if searched. But don't forget to put a stopwatch infront you. All you have is 2 minutes for 1 question. Seriously  time is the most important factor even if you know the answers for whole lot. Basically IQ part is all about mathematics and to do it fast.

And about the technical part, it is better to wined up everything you did in the past. But consider more on data structures and sorting algorithms. And also interpret  outputs of code lines where mostly the recursion involved. And practice to compile it faster. Then the sql statements. Finding of output resultset. Object oriented design concepts can also be measured.

So these are some of things you might have for your selections. Good luck and cheers.

TM - Get to the Point

Project : Get to the Point - ToastMasters 2013/03/11

Today I brought the most dangerous, most powerful, most strongest weapon in this world. And for centuries ago it was the most deadliest. It could not only destroy a one person, but a whole bunch at once. Can anyone guess what I brought here today?

Easy to carry; Not so much heavy; Very much affordable; Can take anywhere; No one will notice. Oh Yes!!! no one will ever!!!

Well...... I brought a pen here today!!!!

There is a popular saying "Pen is mightier than the sword". You can hold it like this (hold it with the fist) and use it like this (as a weapon), or hold it like this (hold it with fingers) and use it like this (as a pen). What is the most ideal way to hold it. When I hold it like this (smoothly like a pen); this doesn't mean I'm just only holding a pen. This stands for the literature, jounalism and all the other methods of writing. Actually it represent the written word.

The invention of the written word help human to store and propagate ideas and thoughts. It doesn't matter which media you presented it. Electronically, Printed or in handwritten. Because now the technology has changed everything. The purpose of the pen is to connect ones mind with another with a written word. Writing something powerful has the ability to inspire, motivate and change. Change lives, change minds and even change the history. Through ages, pen shaped the human history. It made people to stand up against tyranny and injustice. It made a great effect on the mindset of the society. If you go deep down into the history, you can see how great many writers were involved in revolutions to change the world. American, French and specially in Russian.

Even today written word can influence society. It does a much impact on society as it did years ago, and will continue to do so. Not only in traditional ways like as books, news papers and stuff. But also with the use of technology. Like as Tweets, blogs and status updates.

Great thinkers and writers created the spirit of modern world by the power of pen. Pen plays a big role in how society think and functioned. So it is true, pen is mightier than the sword. Victories making from weapon of arms are short lived. But victories of weapon of pens are so long and lived forever. For example, plays of Shakespeare, novels of Charles Dickens are still alive among the readers. Pen is mightier, because it promotes the cultural value and graces of life. Not like the weapons which destroys it. Pen is a powerful tool which helps us to visualize our thoughts and bring our heart to a paper. It allows you to take a moment of silence in the noise of your life.

Words we write using a pen, can change the world. The question is, will it be for the better or worse. Written words can express either good ideas or bad ones. And you never know how dangerous things it can spread. So understand wisely, why you use this weapon before you are using it. And use it constructively.

Think before you write!

Thank you.

Heroes

To write a good time traveling story you really need a good understanding of logical thinking. What will happen or will not happen if this happens or this not happens etcetera. Like in chess. Forward backward ; backward forward ; all about thinking.

Heroes, story of extraordinary abilities. It is some kind of good example for this concept. But the thing is, it became boring after 2nd season and gosh I didn't watched. Dead becomes born and born becomes dead, repeating the same old same old pattern. Anyway it's something cool to watch.

If you watched Merlin check who is Isaac Mendez. Is it your favorite knight, who is the best knight of King Arther.

Oz the Great and Powerful

At the time when you read a story book, did you ever... ever had a thought about the story behind the story. Here's the perfect example.
Wizard of Oz.
Really believed there should be a perfect story behind the Oz, rather than Dorothy and Toto. And so... there was.

Think of your favourite story book and imagine the story behind the story.
Story behind the residual characters that author didn't give so much attention to. Try to put out the imagineer in you. That's what I called the behind scenes of a story book.

TM - Organize Your Speech

Project : Organize Your Speech - ToastMasters 2013/02/26

“When I was just a little girl
I asked my mother what will I be
Will I be pretty... will I be rich...
Here's what she said to me”

If you really curious to know what her mother was said to her, find this song and just listen to it. Do you really know the deep deep meaning behind it. This song is totally talking about a very true nature that human kind have. The curiosity of getting into know about our own future. So I'm going to talk about this very same topic today. Is it beneficial to get into know about our future? People who believe in astrology would totally agree with me, if I say it is. But what about people who do not believe in astrology, because of that thinking no one can predict it. They are all doing a huge fake. But do they really? Well think about a billiard table or a carom table. When a player hit the striker disk he knows where the disk and the piece what it hit will goes. Well, player knows the future, isn't it? It is simply the physics. A theory which is defined by a long time analysis, with experiments, observations and conclusions. Likewise someone can say we can define a theory to predict the future by a long time analysis. Well it is a very doubtful question.

Everyone likes to know how they would look like when they grow older. What would they do in next 10 years, what will happens to this world. You know 1000s of question people asks from astrologers. Some of you might think if you can have that prediction of your future, you can change whatever bad happens to you. But whatever future that you could always break, so any prediction would be false. Isn’t it?

Anyway whether it is predictable or not, I'm saying future has to be uncertain to enjoy the true value of life. Well it's really ok to not know what the future holds.
Why I'm saying that....

1. It takes the pressure off
If you know something bad is on your way, you'll get panicked even before it arrives. And there will be no space to other good things on your mind. Just face for this moment and give your best shot to overcome. And of course when a good thing coming on your way, feel the joy comes with the surprise. And knowing exactly what's coming would take it all the way.

2. Saves time & money
Think of the time and money that we spend on trying to predict the future. Why don't you spend those time and money to do things you really enjoy, right at this moment?

3. Challenges, Mistakes, Learn and Achievers
When we understand that we can’t control what happens, we can devote more of our energy to how we respond and what we learn. Not knowing the future will enable you to experience the unexpected, much like a detour. It allows us to explore new things. Whatever will be, will be. Let's face the unknown. Be like Water. Shapeless, formless. Just adapt to the environment as you goes. We can't control what happens to us but we can control our responses. Making decisions in the face of the unknown is an essential part of the human experience.

So I'll wrap up my speech like this.

"Yesterday is History, Tomorrow a Mystery, Today is a Gift, That’s why it's called the Present"

Thank You!

Provident Films

October baby, Fireproof and Courageous all provident films I had watched 100 thumbs up. Little too much religious, but doesn't matter, they had something. Something for eyes, something for soul.

Catch all the list in here : http://www.providentfilms.org/

And it says like this....

"Movies can make a difference. They can be something the entire family enjoys together. They can be stories you recommend to your friends and neighbors. They can literally leave you cheering. Movies can be so much more ..."

Mobility

I'm going to write this entirely with my mobile. Have no doubt, 100% promise. It will take a looong time, but I'm keep trying because it's raining cats and dogs now. It's a pretty thing to see now I'm too much depend on this gadget. Wake up for a beautiful new song everyday in the morning, dictionary always next to you, FM on your ears, games to play, TED to watch, podcasts to listen, PDFs to read, internet to search, calendars to schedule, maps to locate, cal to cal, stop watches to time and so much apps to learn. Ok no chats, no FB, no Skype and no tweets. Seriously! !

And now of course blogger to blog. But the problem is to attach that imaginary second. If there is no image, it would not be like Mistry P's one ne. The reason for this blog to be here. The reason for that enthusiasm. (Goodness!! There is a SL in MIT labs)

Of course this is 100% mobility.

End up with his marvelous childhood poem which made me feel funny.

Abraham Lincoln is my name

I wrote in both haste and speed
And left it here for fools to read

Hahahaha!!!

Thank you for that letter I read written to the Roberts(Bob) headmaster, Thank you for the announcer in the morning at bus, Thank You for the Gettysburg Speech at TMC. Somewhere... Someone... Something was telling me to read it.. So here I am.
