Electrifying Ideas

"If you want to have a good idea, you must have many ideas. Most of them will be wrong, and what you have to learn is which ones to throw away."

This is a really good advice if you are looking for a really good idea. If I could add up a little bit, among those good ideas there is an idea, that would electrify all the other ideas. Thereafter all the other ideas would flow in to your mind like a river flows into the water. So the other thing you have to learn is to find out this electrifying idea and capture all the other ideas that would flows without loosing a one. To do that, best thing to do is scribble or record everything that pops up on the spot.

Changing Metaphors

Metaphors. It's the way the things are. But.... One day it could be different. If you look at it in a different way.
That ONE day, would be the DAY, when you THINK differently.

"Think Different". That was the slogan of Apple Computer, Inc

Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes.
The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them.
About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They invent. They imagine. They heal. They explore. They create. They inspire. They push the human race forward.
Maybe they have to be crazy.
How else can you stare at an empty canvas and see a work of art? Or sit in silence and hear a song that’s never been written? Or gaze at a red planet and see a laboratory on wheels?
We make tools for these kinds of people.
While some see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.

Nothing is Impossible.
It is the way how wishful thinking people thinks about the world. But the reality would not be the same. Impossibility is there in the world. That's the truth. So we change this metaphor. "Impossible is Nothing". If we can achieve the impossibility, then that would be the real victory. That what you should promote and respect. Rather than saying there is nothing that is impossible in this world where no one would believe. That's what Adidas said in there slogan campaign.

Grass is greener on the other side of the fence.
That's what the negativism say. That's what the Comparers say. People who complains about themselves. Let's change this metaphor. "Grass is greener on our side of the fence". See things positively, See the good on everything.

Curiosity Kills the Cat
Would being curious is a bad sign? Find out the answer from where the story of Mas Holdings came from.

Now let's be curious. It doesn't necessarily kills the cat.

Needles or Needle

Albert Einstein was asked once, what the difference was between him and the average person.  He answered “If you ask the average person to find a needle in a haystack, he or she will stop when they find a needle. I, on the other hand, will go through the entire haystack looking for all the possible needles.

Good thought to think about isn't it. What do you want to look for, a needle or needles?
I came up with this from our MCS research methods notes. Kept this quote as a draft and didn't had a time to make it as a post. So here this comes, looking for needles.

Songs of the generations

After a break, was able to find a good collection of sinhala songs. Collection of Harshana Dissanayake both the child and the adult. Other than to so much popular and පට්ට ගැසූ "Iren Handen" and other stuff you see on tv, these will be not so much familiar to you if you are not a frequent radio listner.

So here is my very favourite. Music by Rohana Weerasinghe with the childish voice of Harshana.

Much needy song for 2015 I guess as it is much controversial period for Sri Lanka.

Couldn't been able to find the lyrics from whom. Guess it's his navy uncle Admiral Somathilake Dissanayake as most of his lyrics from childhood came from him.

By listening to his childhood voice and then to his adulthood voice I see good signs of "Subhavitha Geethaya"

එකමුතු වෙමු නිති සුරකිමු - උරුමය අප දිනු රටේ

2015 - 05 - 06

Correcting the mistake. The song was not written by his navy uncle, but his uncle cinema. Film director who has made "Siri Parakum", "Siri Rajasiri", "Sooriya Arana"...such like. So lyrics done by Somarathna Dissanayake.
